Join us for Breaking Bread The premise is simple. We meet at a local establishment, enjoy food and fellowship together and learn about God. There will be a lesson and discussion centered on a particular theological topic. Breaking Bread is not going to be your same old, same old church discussion. At every lesson, we will learn something new. If you have your theological house in order and do not want to be challenged, Breaking Bread is not for you. But if you have questions about God and would like to seek answers in a safe (and fun) environment, you will enjoy Breaking Bread.
Our first gathering will be at Selma’s in Rancho Santa Margarita on Wednesday, September 20 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. You pay for your own dinner (and bar tab). Childcare will be provided at the RSM site. (Please make sure your children have eaten or bring food with them). The topic will be “Original Blessing” and we will be looking at what the creation narrative in Genesis really teaches and what it means for us today. I promise it will be an enlightening evening. We are limited to only 25 people. If we grow out of Selma’s, I will find a new location for our October gathering. To reserve a spot, go to the online calendar on MyShepherd here, look for Breaking Bread, and RSVP. Also, please indicate if you will need childcare. Anyone with an “inquiring mind” will really enjoy Breaking Bread.
