This Lent, take something on!
Saturday, February 24 • O’Neill Park • 9:00 a.m. (easy; no dogs)
We’ll meet at the playground at O’Neill Park. We will do a split hike: an easy hike along a paved road and a moderate hike along a dirt ridge trail. The easy hike is on paved roads with just a gain of 100 ft in elevation over 1.8 miles. The moderate hike is 2.8 miles with a nearly 500 ft elevation gain.
Dogs are allowed on the easy hike, which is a paved road suitable for strollers as well. The moderate hike is on a dirt trail; no dogs allowed.
Parking and directions: Take Plano Trabuco into the canyon for a few miles and turn left into the park. Parking is $5. Wind around the road until you see the playground. But, if you’re cheap like me, you’ll park up on El Camino Montana just around the corner from “church row” near SM Parkway and Las Flores. Walk thru the gate entrance and head down the paved road, about 1/2 mile total.
