Drive-Thru Communion at Both Campuses
Sunday, July 5 at RSM campus –
Communion and Food Drive from 11:00 a.m. to noon.
The Community Table ministry has been serving record numbers of people in our community. In addition to “grab and go” meals we have been providing much needed staple items. You can support this ministry by bringing the following items to communion: pasta sauce, cereal, applesauce, mac ‘n’ cheese, canned tuna, peanut butter, and jelly. Members of our confirmation class will be collecting the food.
Sunday, July 12 at MV campus –
Communion and School Supply Drive at the MV campus from 11:00 a.m. to noon.
We’re helping South County Outreach prepare backpacks for kindergartners through 6th graders in need. Requested items include: #2 pencils, pens (black, blue & red), colored pencils, pencil sharpener, pencil pouch, colored markers, 24-count crayons, highlighters, black dry-erase markers, wide markers, watercolor paints, eraser caps, large pink erasers, glue sticks, Elmers school glue, 12″ rulers, 5″ blunt tip scissors, 5″ pointed scissors, ear buds, facial tissue, 2-pocket folders, spiral notebooks (wide ruled), loose leaf paper (wide ruled), composition book (wide ruled), and backpacks (16″ x 12″ x 5″).
Communion and “socially distant” fellowship are from 11:00 a.m. to noon. After you drive into the parking lot you will be served individually wrapped communion elements. After receiving the elements, you are invited to park and fellowship. Everyone is asked to wear masks and keep at least one parking space between themselves and others.
Virtual Patio Fellowship This Sunday at MV
Join us for fellowship on Sunday, July 5. One of the best parts of Sunday morning is catching up on the patio after Join with your church family at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings for either campus. You’ll have the chance to see your friends, and we’ll break people into small groups for some casual connecting. Grab your coffee and donuts for a great time of connecting with Jesus and each other.

Worship Together on Facebook
Even though we are all watching the sermon from different places we can gather together on Facebook and watch the MV sermon at the same time!
It is kind of fun to watch people hop on, be able to say hi in the chat and know that we are not worshipping alone.
Join us on Facebook this Sunday (www.facebook.com/shepherdmvc). The worship video goes live at 10:00 a.m.!
All Church Daily Prayer Call: Monday through Saturday at 9:20 a.m.
- Call us direct at 1-339-209-4600 (lines are usually open by 9:10 a.m.)
- Six mornings a week we gather together by a conference call for a phone-in time of prayer. Led by a pastor or lay leader, this 15-minute call gathers us together in a time of separation. It allows us to share our prayer concerns, and to begin our day in community. All you have to do is dial the direct number above and you’ll be on the call with your church family. When you dial in, please be sure to have your television and any other background noise turned off to help with clarity on the phone call. If you are calling by cell phone, this should be a toll-free call.
If you have a need we want to pair you up with someone who can help. If you want to serve, we want to pair you up with someone in need. And the way we are doing this is through our iServe/iNeed form. Follow the link below and let us know if you are in need or looking to serve. https://sothumc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/48/responses/new – and sign up. Let’s care for one another during this time.
Community Table Every Wednesday
The Community Table ministry is still serving folks during this time. However, rather than having a sit down meal, we are preparing “grab and go” meals for all who are in need. Pick up a meals between 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the RSM site.
Hunger Sunday is the first Sunday of the month. Since we are worshipping remotely, that means we are not collecting food for South County Outreach. In celebration of Hunger Sunday, if you would like to make a donation to SCO, just click on this link: https://www.sco-oc.org/donation-form/
Please know that Pastor Jon and I are available for pastoral care by phone or video call. In these challenging times, we want you to know that we are here for you if you need us. You can reach us by email at: Pastorjon@sothumc.org or Pastorkarl@sothumc.org.
We will make it through this. Remember the words so often quoted in the Psalms when we are reminded, “God’s steadfast love endures forever.”
Remember, you can continue to be part of making a difference at Shepherd of the Hills through your gifts and pledges. You can drop a check in the mail, you can click the following link and give online, or you can most likely do so through your bank’s online payment options. As we continue to be in ministry and reaching out, your gifts provide a solid foundation to make this a reality.
