Hunger Sunday
The first Sunday of every month at Shepherd is Hunger Sunday .
- Hunger Sunday is our food drive which supports both Community Table and South County Outreach.
About Community Table
Shepherd of the Hills hosts Community Table at the Rancho Santa Margarita campus, and provides free meals every Wednesday evening. More information is HERE.
About South County Outreach
South County Outreach’s mission is preventing hunger and homelessness by helping people help themselves. Their programs include:
- A Food Pantry that distributes nearly one million pounds of emergency, non-perishable and fresh food to an average of 9,000 families annually.
- Housing programs that provide subsidized housing and professional case management services to local families who are homeless or on the verge of being homeless.
- A Computer Learning Lab that teaches more than 600 students annually who are unemployed and underemployed to improve their skills and increase job opportunities.
Shepherd of the Hills supports South County Outreach in several ways, including a monthly “Hunger Sunday” food drive, food drives at local markets, and Easter baskets and Christmas gifts for SCO children.
