Our Mexico Build provides an opportunity to make a measurable difference in the lives of families and the local community just south of Ensenada. The level and severity of poverty that exists in Mexico is easily visible and impactful when visiting the area. For a meager amount of money and time, a group of people can provide a life changing experience to multiple families and a community.
The Mission: We will construct finished houses in only three days.
What ministries are offered? The Mexico Mission 2022 offers an opportunity to be involved in home construction. There will be no VBS this year.
Who can attend? Any high school youth or adult can participate in house building. Families who wish to attend with children 8th grade or under are welcome, but children are under a parent’s supervision at all times. There is no childcare or specific program for families attending the mission trip.
When do we leave and return? We will depart Thursday, January 13 at 10:30 a.m. and return Monday, January 17 around 1:00 p.m. (Another departure will be planned for Friday, January 14, if needed.)
What will it cost? The registration fee includes food, auto insurance and gasoline expenses for our drivers. We suggest you bring personal spending money for any shopping and for one of several taco runs that are quite likely to occur!
Where do we stay? We stay at YUGO’s inviting Ensenada Outreach Center (EOC). Be prepared for a clean and fun separate bunk bed setup for men and women, shared modern restrooms with hot showers, delicious food prepared by YUGO staff, and plenty of room to relax and share in the presence of others while on the trip. Family accommodations also are available on a limited basis.
What will we do besides work? The days are filled with service and lots of fun! During the evening, there will be food, fellowship, spirited worship and a small group recap of each day. Additional Fundraising: We have created a gofundme.com account you can share if any friends or family want to donate: www.gofundme.com/sothumc-mexico2022.
